At the end of January this year, a delegation of representatives of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Civil Engineering of VSB - Technical University of Ostrava went on a working trip to India to deepen relations with Indian universities and institutions, to present study programmes and to discuss opportunities for cooperation in education and research. This trip was a major step towards strengthening international cooperation and opening new opportunities not only for students but also for researchers and academics.
The delegation comprising of faculty leaders first visited several reputed universities in India: Vidya Academy of Science & Technology, Jyothi Engineering College and Universal Engineering College. During these visits, the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology (FMST) and the Vice Dean for Studies presented the FMST study programmes as well as the OP JAK MATUR project. The discussion focused on the possibilities of student mobility, joint research projects and other forms of cooperation.
The next stop on the trip was a visit and a meeting with the management and staff of the EUROPE STUDY CENTRE branch and ESC EDU VENTURES. Here, the representatives of the faculty management again presented the FMST study programmes and presented details regarding the admission procedure and the OP JAK MATUR project.
The highlight of the visit was a meeting with Professor Ashis Mallick of the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad in Delhi. Here, an in-depth discussion was held on the OP JAK MATUR project and the possibilities of collaboration between the two institutions in the field of education and research.
Finally, the delegation visited the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi where they discussed with the Embassy representatives about visa requirements for students and researchers. This discussion was particularly important in the context of the OP JAK MATUR project, which brings new opportunities for international cooperation in the field of education.
Overall, this trip abroad can be considered a great success. It strengthened the relations between VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and Indian institutions, opened new perspectives for cooperation and brought concrete results in the form of discussions and agreements. This trip is only the beginning of further development of international cooperation and creation of opportunities for students and researchers.
