In accordance with the MATUR project, the first meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) was held, which was established as an independent advisory board to the Rector in the area of strategy and evaluation of the activities of the project's expert team. This Board, whose main task is to provide expert supervision and advice in the field of scientific research, makes recommendations on the fulfilment of the project's objectives, the quality of its results and outputs, the transfer of knowledge and the exploitation of its application potential. The ISAB meets at least once a year with the direct participation of the Board members or by remote communication via information and communication technologies.
The first meeting of the ISAB members was held under the leadership of the principal investigator of the MATUR project, prof. Ing. Bohumír Strnadel, DrSc. The meeting was also attended by the heads of individual research projects. During the meeting, first the election of the ISAB chairman took place and then the main research areas and plans for future experiments were presented. Prof. Osamu Umezawa, PhD. from Yokohama National University, Japan was elected as the ISAB chairman. ISAB members provided valuable comments and recommendations that will serve as a basis for successful project development. The discussion focused not only on the research areas of the MATUR project, but also on the actual organization of the Board's work and the project management strategy.
Overall, the first ISAB meeting was successful and brought valuable contributions to the MATUR project.
We look forward to further cooperation.
