Summary
The subject of the presented project is research and development of a special, combined magnetic-hydraulic system for machining, which combines the advantages of hydraulic and magnetic clamping to ensure higher precision and higher energy efficiency of machining wide-footed (symmetric, Vignola) and tongue (asymmetric) rails with an interdisciplinary overlap for machining application of long products. Therefore, the system will be able to balance the disadvantages of said methods, such as the dependence on the electrical network and the risk of short circuits in magnetic clamping, or the cost, certain stiffness and robustness of the hydraulic systems.
