Summary

The aim of the project is to process metal-bearing waste and secondary materials with reduced quality in aluminium foundries while maintaining metallurgical quality. CKOSU will focus on design and optimisation of raw materials recovery from waste and scrap using metallurgy and hydrometallurgy techniques and on the final product development by suitable composition and batch size for application in foundries. The solution will use principles of circularity to reduce the environmental footprint as well as reducing imput materials cost. The motivation for the project is tightening conditions for environmentally friendly and sustainable production while maintaining economical process and casting quality. The proposed solution will use series of laboratory experiments and operational tests.
