Moulding materials testing laboratory

Comprehensively equipped workplace with all necessary equipment for the evaluation of parameters of moulding mixtures and their components (abrasives, binders, additives). Thanks to the modernization in the last 5 years, this laboratory has become a state-of-the-art workplace reflecting the needs of foundry operations.

3D Printing laboratory

The possibility of using Rapid Prototyping technology (additive manufacturing) in the form of design and processing of patterns using 3D printing, both from plastic (PLA, ABS, PET, HIPS, Flex PP, Ninjaflex, Laywood, Laybrick, Nylon, Bamboofill, Bronzefill, ASA, T-Glase, carbon fibre filaments, polycarbonate) and wax mixtures (original Solidscape wax material (construction and support).

Investment casting laboratory

  • A unique workplace (also used as jewellery workshop) with instrumentation designed for precision casting technology and the production of precision castings from ferrous and non-ferrous alloys (including precious metals).
  • Special casting equipment with the possibility of casting castings up to 170 cm3 volume and mould size up to 120 mm diameter and 200 mm height.
  • Modern workplace with the possibility of using Rapid Prototyping and additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Extension of cooperation with secondary schools in the form of a "faculty school" project.

Spin cast laboratory

  • Newly built workplace with instrumentation designed for the "TekCast" technology (spin casting of low-melting alloys - Zn, Sn - into rubber moulds).
  • Vulcanizer - making rubber moulds of different diameters.
  • Melting equipment - possibility of melting low temperature alloys.
  • Casting equipment - possibility of regulation of rotation speed, direction of rotation, choice of mould pressure.
  • Portable and static laboratory equipment.

Laboratory of thermo-physical properties evaluation

  • Equipped with dilatometer and DTA/TG measuring device.
  • Evaluation of solid samples – e.g. ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloy samples, etc.
  • Evaluation of pressed samples – e.g. pressed powders.
  • Evaluation of granular or powder samples – special container allowing to measure granular materials as natural sands, etc.
  • Evaluation possible up to 2000 °C, with/without innert atmosphere (6.0 Ar).
