Summary
High-performance supercomputer systems such as "Salomon" by IT4I, "MetaCentrum" by CESNET or "Govorun" by LIT are available at both collaboration institutions. The TUO team is still using MetaCentrum (CESNET) and Salomon (IT4I) systems for mathematical modeling of air pollution. At present, the largest and most comprehensive model of emission-air pollution relations is being developed in the large area, which reaches the Opole and Silesian Voivodeship in Poland, the Moravian-Silesian region in Czechia and the Slovakian Žilina region. The project will deal with the use of originally one-processor program codes that have been developed in the field of environmental and nuclear research more than 30 years ago in new computing systems using standard and graphic processors at both workplaces (VŠB-TUO and LIT, JINR).
