Title
Air pollution characterization in industrial urbanized regions using nuclear analytical techniques mathematical modelling and GIS technology
Code
182-15
Summary
The aim of the project is to characterize the origin of the particulate matter air pollution in Moravian-Silesian region, Czech Republic. The research is based on moss biomonitors used for multi-element determination. Nuclear analytical technique: instrumental neutron activation analysis will be used for analyses. Geographic information system and mathematical modelling will be used for interpretation of results. The Czech team has experiences in GIS and air pollution modelling for air pollution assessment. JINR team has an international recognition in air pollution studies by INAA at the reactor IBR-2 of FLNP. The expected results are of great national interest and allow the prolongation of TUO team participation in the UN program (UNECE ICP Vegetation) and EU project AIR TRITIA.
