The Thermal Analysis Laboratory studies the thermophysical properties (phase transformation temperatures, decomposition temperatures, heat capacities, thermal expansion coefficients and many others) of materials (solid and liquid phases, in various forms: bulk, powder, gel, etc.) and their thermodynamic and kinetic behaviour. Physical, chemical, and physical-chemical processes (phase transformations, decomposition processes, etc.) are also studied. To obtain key data, DTA, DSC, DIL, TMA, TG and EGA (MS) and DROP calorimetry methods, or their simultaneous variants (TG/DTA/MS, TG/DSC/MS, TG/DTA, TG/DSC) are used.
Our laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art experimental equipment, can characterize many materials. These include inorganic materials such as metal alloys, oxide systems or ceramic materials; organic materials such as oils, waxes or rubbers; and many others, demonstrating our versatility in material characterization.
Our experimental systems allow analyses over a wide temperature range: -180 to 2000°C in heating/cooling mode, isothermal dwell. The calorimeters are equipped with highly sensitive 3D DSC sensors and the DILatometer with a highly sensitive NanoEye sensor. This precision and range underscore our commitment to providing accurate and comprehensive data.
